Вооруженных ограблений на 300% больше — формируется новая пиратоопасная зона
С начала 2020 года в южной части Мексиканского залива наблюдается всплеск пиратства, в частности в заливе Кампече.
По данным Объединенного военного комитета (JWC), в 2018 году в регионе было зарегистрировано 16 инцидентов, в 2019 году – 20 и лишь в первой половине 2020 года – 19.
В отчете Морской администрации США (MARAD) говорится, что в этом регионе в период с 4 по 14 апреля 2020 года было совершено четыре вооруженных ограбления — на 300% больше, чем за весь 2019 год. При этом, официальная статистика Международного морского бюро о многих случаях умалчивает и зарегистрировала всего одно нападение.
Целью пиратов чаще всего становятся личные вещи и деньги членов экипажа, в некоторых случаях они забирают с собой оборудование судна – кислородные баллоны, строительные материалы, детали, сигнальные огни и прочее.
В своём недавнем уведомлении JWC рекомендовал экипажам судов сохранять максимальную бдительность и повышать условия безопасности на борту при прохождении этого района плавания.
Ситуация в заливе Кампече вызывает особую озабоченность у страховщиков, оценивающих риски.
